Nearly a year after she stole the hearts of Edmontonians as she fought crime, and rescued an Edmonton Oiler, an Indiegogo campaign has been launched to complete production on a film about Spider Mable.

On Thursday, local film company Leven Creative introduced their feature-length documentary – the project documents Spider Mable’s heroic journey to save Oilers Captain Andrew Ference, and take down villain Mysterio on September 28, 2015.

The film also includes behind the scenes footage of how the day came together, and a closer look at Mable, who would later become Spider Mable.

The company launched an Indiegogo campaign Thursday to complete the production.

Back in late September, 2015, six-year-old Mable Tooke woke up, not aware that her story would become a local and international sensation.

Through the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, Mable became Spider Mable, and worked with Spiderman himself to save the day.

The film’s producer and director said the film takes a closer look at that whirlwind day.

“People saw the story through news, what we’re going to do is slow it down, take a look at how Mable felt and everything that was going on during the wish, after the wish,” Producer and director Kelly Wolfert said.

Up until now, the film has been funded by the filmmakers.
