A young man has been charged with impaired driving after a vehicle smashed into a northeast Edmonton Husky gas station early Friday morning.

Police said a truck crashed into the convenience store portion of Husky at 118 Avenue and 43 Street early Friday, causing serious damage.

The truck ran into the front of the store’s reception area.

Husky is expected to be closed for several days as cleanup gets underway.

The clerk on duty at the time was not injured.

Police have charged a 21-year-old man with impaired driving.
