Edmonton police have laid charges in connection to death of a Sherwood Park man, due to an overdose earlier in the year.

Officers were called to a parking lot near Gateway Boulevard and 43 Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2017.

Police found a man slumped over in a vehicle, dead.

An autopsy and toxicology results confirmed the 39-year-old man died as a result of a fentanyl overdose.

On Monday, police said Jamie Michael Dixon, 33, was arrested – he’s facing charges of manslaughter and three counts of trafficking.
