A man and a child are dead after a house fire in northern Alberta early Saturday morning.
Crews responded to a fire in Plamondon around 12:45 a.m., RCMP said.
The home was destroyed by the fire; with a nearby home suffering some damage from the flames.
“It’s tragic for our community,” said Mayor of Lac La Biche County Omer Moghrabi. “We’re a close knit community, everybody basically knows everyone.”
A woman was airlifted to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The fire is under investigation.
Plamondon is approximately 200 kilometres northeast of Edmonton.
