Man dies from injuries sustained during assault: Edmonton police

Police are investigating the death of a man in central Edmonton over the weekend.

EMS responded to a house in the area of 106 Avenue and 95 Street in the early morning hours on Saturday for a medical event.

Officers were called to the location at 3 a.m. after paramedics found a dead man with injuries sustained in an assault.

The case was turned over to the homicide section because of the suspicious nature of the death.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday.
