A 21-year-old man is facing numerous charges in connection with a shooting earlier this week.

Police were initially called to 105 avenue and 101 street in the early morning hours of Thursday, December 11, after reports that a 32-year-old man had been shot. The victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains in stable condition.

After reviewing surveillance footage from the area, investigators and members of the EPS tactical section converged on the area of 102 avenue and 101 street  on the afternoon of December 11. A male suspect was taken into custody without incident. Officers recovered a loaded and concealed firearm from the suspect.

Ronald Alexander Giroux-Belcourt is now facing 28 charges, including attempted murder.
