An Edmonton man was ticketed over the weekend after being caught watching television on his laptop, while driving on a highway north of Calgary.

RCMP and Sheriffs with the Airdrie Integrated Traffic Unit were called by a concerned driver – who reported seeing a vehicle driving erratically while heading southbound on the QE2 near Carstairs.

According to police, as the witness passed the vehicle, they noticed the driver had his laptop open on the dash of his vehicle and was watching an episode of Tosh.0 - a viral video show hosted by comedian Daniel Tosh.

The witness called 911 to alert police who say they had no trouble locating the vehicle on the highway due to a "white glow emanating from the windows of the vehicle."

The driver, a 28-year-old man, was issued tickets for distracted driving and failing to produce proof of valid insurance.

In the release, Acting Sheriff Sgt. Jason Graw said this type of incident is not unique. He recounts this being the third time in recent memory that officers along that stretch of the QE2 have caught a driver watching videos while behind the wheel.

In November, RCMP charged a 42-year-old Red Deer man for watching a movie while driving along the same stretch of the highway.
