Police are investigating after two people were injured when a fight turned bloody in the crowd at a concert in a north-side nightclub early Friday morning.

Officers were called after 2 a.m. Friday to Chrome Nightclub, located on Clareview Road, after a fight started in the crowd during a concert.

The altercation had escalated and a man ended up wounded after he was reportedly slashed with a broken bottle, he suffered minor injuries in the incident.

A woman was also hurt in the incident.

When police arrived, they told CTV News they found the club crammed with people, the sheer number of patrons in the bar at the time of the incident has made the initial stages of their investigation difficult.

"We just blocked off the bar," Sgt. James Junio with the Edmonton Police Service said on the scene. "It's unfortunately full of people right now so we're just trying to weed through and identify some witnesses, and possibly our suspects."

Due to the number of people inside at the time, Police said they plan to call in the Public Safety Compliance Team to investigate whether Chrome Nightclub has been following liquor and gaming regulations.

Police are still combing through information collected from witnesses, and are attempting to identify suspects.
