A 26-year-old Didsbury man is dead following a hunting accident northwest of Grande Prairie on Monday, January 18.

According to RCMP Cpl. Leigh Drinkwater, the man was hunting in a rural area of Saddle Hills County with three other adults when he was accidentally shot by another member of the group – he died on scene.

Police will not be releasing any details about the shooter at the request of family.

No charges have been laid and no other details have been released.

Saddle Hills County is located about 100 kilometres northwest of Grande Prairie.
