An Amber Alert issued for 12-year-old Jacob Telford has been cancelled by Strathcona County RCMP.
In a release issued at 7:15pm Friday, Strathcona County RCMP said that Jacob Telford was located in a residential area in Surrey British Columbia.
Police say that the teenager appears to be in good condition.
Telford's mother, Kathleen LeSage, was arrested at the scene without incident.
She will be returned to Sherwood Park to appear in provincial court at an undetermined date.
The alert was issued Friday. Jacob Telford was last seen getting into a vehicle in front of his house located in the Ranchlands Subdivision in Sherwood Park around 3:45 p.m. Thursday.
RCMP say they received a report from the boy's father that he had not come home from school around 5:10 p.m. Thursday. Then around 2 p.m. Friday, police issued an Amber Alert.
Police say there was a delay in in issuing an Amber Alert because new information came to light Friday afternoon, prompting RCMP to issue an alert.
