Raised on an acreage near Stony Plain, Cory Edel has spent a big chunk of his life living in and around the Edmonton area. He is a proud Albertan who considers himself lucky to live in a province where he can enjoy a mix of the mountains, prairies, and the Badlands.
His fascination with weather began at a young age. He had a keen interest in thunderstorms – watching them roll in and lighting up the skies. Today, Cory continues to track storms and all other types of weather systems as a meteorologist and CTV Morning Live’s Weather Anchor.
Cory has been a meteorologist for over five years and is a proud graduate of the University of Alberta. He has years of television experience; starting out behind the scenes, working in news production.
His love of weather chasing brought him in front of the camera. His passion for meteorology and Alberta makes Cory a great addition to the CTV Morning Live team.
When he’s not chasing storms or reporting the weather situation, Cory can be found hanging around Edmonton. You may find him running through the paths of the River Valley or enjoying some of the local Edmonton eateries. Some of his favourite restaurants include 'The Sugar Bowl' and 'Dadeo'.
'I am excited to be a part of the CTV Morning crew. I love to talk about weather. I’m a big morning person and I want to help wake up my fellow Edmontonians and help them prepare for their day.'
