A former Edmonton tattoo artist has been ordered to pay $13,000 in fines for lying to health officials and giving tattoos in unsanitary conditions.
Last year, health officials warned that anyone who received a tattoo or a piercing at Zipp's Tattoo & Museum should be tested for blood-borne diseases.
The tattoo parlour was shut down after Alberta Health Services discovered sanitation procedures were not being properly followed.
