Two people have been charged after leading RCMP on a dangerous chase Halloween night.
Officials said the incident began one day in late October when they received calls of a suspicious vehicle in Wabamun where individuals were allegedly smoking drugs.
Although police located the vehicle it fled away at a high speed and officers decided not to pursue it.
The same vehicle was located by police on the Paul Band First Nation Friday. Officers obtained identification from the driver but when she was asked to exit the vehicle she raced away.
Again police decided it was too dangerous to chase the suspect as the vehicle raced through a field.
It was located later that night in Alberta Beach. Officials said the vehicle was still moving at dangerously high speeds and frightening children who were out trick-or-treating.
As the vehicle sped out of town police and Sheriffs monitored it.
The vehicle came to a sudden stop on Highway 16, west of Stony Plain, when it ran out of gas.
Officers said the male driver took off running from the vehicle while the female passenger surrendered.
Police Dog Services and Air 1 assisted the chase as there was an indication the fleeing suspect may have a firearm.
A haunted house and several trick-or-treaters in Stony Plain were disrupted when police blocked off an area in town to search for the suspect.
He was discovered hiding inside a garage on a rural property.
Erin Amber Rose Williams, 19, of Red Deer is facing a charge of flight from police. Officials said they also executed 10 outstanding warrants for her arrest.
Jacob Robert Lee Swan, 23, of Alberta Beach is facing charges of flight from police and dangerous driving.
The couple remain in police custody as they await a bail hearing.
