A witness says he saw an Alberta man accused of killing two prostitutes together with one of his alleged victims.

Randy Munian was testifying today at the Edmonton trial of Thomas Svekla, who is charged with second-degree murder in the deaths of Rachel Quinney, 19, and Theresa Innes, 36.

Munian told court he and his fiancee moved into a townhouse with Svekla in early 2004 and that one night he asked Munian if a woman he had come home with could borrow one of his CDs.

The witness testified that the woman, who appeared to have been awake for days, told him her first name was Rachel and that Svekla called her Quinney.

Munian also told the judge-only trial that he saw Svekla with many different women, but never with that particular woman again.

Svekla has repeatedly denied knowing Quinney, whose body was discovered in a field east of Edmonton in June 2004.
