Investigators with the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) and RCMP said Friday that a Thorsby man was facing a number of charges, related to offences committed against children.

ALERT said Friday that Sean Hudson, 26, is facing a total of 20 charges, five counts each of sexual assault, breach of conditions and child luring, four counts of sexual interference and a charge of invitation to sexual touching.

The charges stem from a number of offences allegedly committed against four male victims, in four separate cases. Investigators said all of the victims were under the age of 14.

Officials said it’s believed the offences started in November 2009, the accused was first arrested and charged by RCMP in Thorsby in June, 2013.

ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit became involved in May 2014, when two more victims were identified.

Police said the offences were not random, it’s believed the accused befriended family members in an effort to gain access to the children.

Most recently, Hudson was taken into custody August 19.

It’s believed there could be more victims related to the accused in Alberta or British Columbia, anyone with information is asked to call their local police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
