Adam Cook

CTV News Edmonton

February 2021: Adam Cook is no longer with the company.

Adam Cook joined CTV Edmonton in March 2004 as the station's 6 p.m. sports anchor and reporter.

He was born in London, Ont., but grew up in Fort McMurray. Shortly after graduating from Father Mercredi High School, Adam realized he wasn't tough enough to work in the oil patch and didn't have the physique for pro-wrestling. "I knew I liked television, news and had a passion for sports, it was an easy decision for me."

He spent a year at university before jumping to the broadcasting program at SAIT in Calgary.
Adam has worked in several different television markets, including, Swift Current, Lloydminster, Saskatoon and Edmonton.

Working in the "City of Champions" had always been a goal for Adam, and he loves working in a city where sports play such a huge role in most peoples' lives.

Adam says covering the 2006 and 2017 Stanley Cup playoffs, the 2005 Grey Cup in B.C., the 2001 World Track and Field Championship and the 2010 Vancouver Olympics are the highlights of his career so far.

Outside of work, Adam enjoys playing soccer and golf. He also loves movies and travel. But he says there's not much time for that anymore. Since joining CTV, Adam and his wife have been kept busy by their son and two daughters.
