David Ewasuk has worked at CTV Edmonton since 1998 as a reporter. Initially covering crime and court, in recent years he’s also focused on the widespread growth and development within our city.

An English-speaking generalist, David has covered many high-profile criminal cases and breaking news events over the years. Among them: the fatal ambush of four RCMP officers in Mayerthorpe in 2005; the murder of a pregnant mom by her husband and the slayings of missing St. Albert couple Lyle and Marie McCann.

His reporting has been recognized both locally and internationally. Stories that bore witness to street racing and shed light on a university study regarding the facial reactions of suspected killers. He has followed along with a police undercover drug unit and even helped to recover surveillance images of lightning striking a moving vehicle.

David has run in the Canadian Death Race in Grande Cache Alberta on three occasions. He enjoys hitting the local outdoor rink when he can.

He was born and raised in Edmonton and he is a graduate of NAIT’s Radio and Television program.

He lives with his family in the greater Edmonton area.
