Matthew Black is a digital journalist based in Edmonton.
He is an alumnus of the UBC Graduate School of Journalism and also holds a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in public policy, both from the University of Alberta.
At CTV News, Matthew reports on court rulings, professional disciplinary decisions and other public records of note.
Before joining CTV in the summer of 2019, he worked at CBC in Vancouver for eight years as a TV producer, video journalist and sports reporter for web and radio.
He's covered the 2012 London riots, the Occupy movement, provincial budgets and homelessness in B.C.'s Lower Mainland. He's also reported from major sports events including The International (esports), Canada 7s (rugby), UFC (mixed martial arts) and the World Juniors (hockey).
