Traffic officials are warning drivers planning to use Highway 63 Monday that there may be delays for a short time, while crews clear the section of the newly-twinned highway.
The province said the 36 kilometre stretch of Highway 63 north of Wandering River will open, with separated north and south-bound lanes set to open at about noon.
Officials said speed limits in the area will be reduced temporarily, and traffic may be temporarily stopped, as crews may be painting lines on the shoulder of the road.
Any traffic delays are expected to clear up by mid-afternoon, with traffic flowing freely later in the day.
Although the road is opening to traffic Monday, there may be some continued construction on the stretch of highway, as the contractor puts final touches on the road.
The province said the opening of the twinned roadway is taking place eight months ahead of schedule, and is on-track for the province’s goal of twinning Highway 63 by the fall of 2016.
