Northeast grass fires took all night to put out: EFRS

Firefighters worked all night to put out more than a dozen grass fires that started along a northeast Edmonton rail line late Saturday afternoon.

Edmonton Fire Rescue Services estimated there were between 12 and 15 fires in the area of 211 Avenue and 31 Street.

At one point, eight units were at the scene.

The fires were considered out just before 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.
