The Octane cheerleaders will not be joining the Oilers at Rogers Place for the 2016/2017 NHL season.
In a statement the Oilers Entertainment Group (OEG) said the organization is “looking for a new direction related to the fan experience” for the inaugural season at Rogers Place. The announcement came Tuesday night, hours after the Edmonton Oilers sent out a tweet about auditions for the new Oilers Orange and Blue Ice Crew.
The Octane first performed in Rexall Place on December 14, 2010 during a game versus the Toronto Maple Leafs.
