RCMP released a photo of the suspect vehicle that allegedly struck and killed a man in Thorsby Friday afternoon.

Police said the collision happened at 3: 45 p.m., after a Fas Gas employee was attempting to stop or get the attention of a vehicle that was leaving the gas station without paying for gas.

The vehicle, described as a medium-sized white commercial cube van with unique decaling on the side, struck the man and fled the scene, RCMP said.

The cube van is believed to be stolen.

The 54-year-old man died on scene.

The customers who often interacted with the victim remember him fondly.

"He was a super nice guy," Lori Pake told CTV News. "He would come out and pump your gas and he was always super friendly."

Anyone with information on the fatal collision or the suspect vehicle is asked to contact the Thorsby/Bretton RCMP detachment at 780-789-3951. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
