Edmonton police were on the scene of a fatal collision in the city’s southeast for several hours Wednesday evening.
Police said at about 6 p.m. Wednesday, a pickup truck heading south on 50 Street near 41 Avenue SW collided with a flatbed truck heading north - EPS later said the crash took place near 20 Ave. SW.
The driver in the pickup truck died as a result of the crash, police identified the driver as a man in his 20s – the two individuals in the flatbed were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officials were advising drivers to avoid the area, as police were expected to remain on the scene until 11 p.m. Wednesday.
