Police in Red Deer are investigating, after a man was injured when he was reportedly hit by what RCMP described as a ‘small calibre projectile’ in the city’s downtown.

Officers were called to an alley north of Ross Street, between 48 Avenue and 49 Avenue, at about 2 p.m.

It’s believed a smaller blue two-door car was involved, and the weapon may have been a BB gun – the vehicle was seen speeding from the area.

The male victim was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The alley was blocked off Monday afternoon as police investigated the incident.
