RCMP east of Edmonton are searching for a man who has been convicted of sexual offences, who is wanted for breaching conditions.

Lloydminster RCMP are on the lookout for Michael Sean Stanley, 48 – an Edmonton man, who is a high risk sex offender and had been under electronic monitoring.

Police said Stanley left Edmonton Tuesday morning, and went to Lloydminster, where he cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet.

His monitoring unit was found on the roof of a Lloydminster business, in the 4300 block of 54 Avenue later Tuesday.

Police said Stanley has a long history of sexual offences, and has, in the past, taken children from playgrounds.

Stanley is described as:

  • Metis
  • 175 cm (5’9”)
  • 86 kg (190 lbs)
  • Black hair
  • Brown eyes

Stanley might be driving a purple 1996 Chevrolet Trail Blazer that possibly has a license plate reading BHD1954.

Members of the public are advised to not approach Stanley if they find him, as he has been known to be violent.

Anyone who sees Stanley is asked to call their local RCMP or police, and anyone with information that could help police track him down is asked to call the Lloydminster RCMP at 306-825-6350.
