Nearly a week after police issued the photo of a suspect, believed to have been involved in a violent assault – officers have renewed their call to track the same suspect down, after another assault.

Officers were called to the most recent incident just before 4 a.m. Tuesday, on reports of an assault in the area of 100 Street and 106 Avenue.

It’s alleged that a man was attacked with a weapon, after a suspect forced herself into the home.

The male victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police are searching for Sharon Houle, aka Sharon Berard, 36, who is wanted on a number of charges in relation to Tuesday’s incident, and another that took place on Dec. 8.

In that incident, downtown officers were called to a stabbing at a high-rise residence in the same area just before 6 p.m.

Police found a 30-year-old woman in suffering from severe knife injuries.

Officers searched the building, but found the female suspect had fled the scene with the weapon, believed to be a long fold-out hunting knife.

In that case, the suspect and victim are believed to know each other and it’s believed the stabbing happened after the two women fought at a local establishment a short time before.

The suspect is described as:

  • Aboriginal
  • 162 cm (5’4”) tall
  • About 81 kg (180 lbs.)
  • Long black hair

At the time of the alleged assault, she was reportedly wearing black clothing.

Sharon Houle is wanted on a number of charges, including uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, assault, housebreaking, and two counts each of possession of an offensive weapon dangerous to the public and housebreaking and aggravated assault.

Houle/Berard is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to call the Edmonton Police Service non-emergency line at 780-423-4567 or dial #377 on a mobile phone.
