Edmonton police are crediting an anonymous tip with helping officers track down and arrest a man who was wanted on more than a dozen warrants.
Last week, police said John Edward Beaver, 53, was wanted on more than a dozen outstanding warrants connected to the alleged sexual assaults of four minors.
The warrants were issued for charges including sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching.
On Thursday, police said Beaver was in custody.
“A large number of tips and information [was] received from all across Alberta regarding the whereabouts of this individual,” Det. Leanne Kilb with the Child Protection Section said in a press release. “It is my hope that knowing this individual is in custody and is going to be held accountable will provide a measure of closure to the children and families who were involved.”
Beaver was arrested in Edmonton on April 6, and remains in custody.
