RCMP in Hobbema continue to investigate the death of a teen in that community.
Cst. Perry Cardinal tells CTV News officers responded to complaints of gun shots around 4:15 a.m. Saturday.
When they arrived they found a 16-year-old male with gunshot wounds.
Cst. Cardinal said the youth was taken to hospital but died from his injuries.
The major crimes unit has been called in but there are no suspects yet.
Investigators said they believe the incident may be gang related.
“We still have some individuals that believe that’s the way to do things and they are involved in this activity not knowing the dangers they actually bring to themselves,” Cst. Cardinal explained.
