Police west of Edmonton confirmed Wednesday that human remains found near Enoch over the weekend belonged to a man who was reported missing in mid-March.
On Wednesday, Spruce Grove and Stony Plain RCMP confirmed human remains, found by an Enoch resident in the area of Range Road 262 and Whitemud Drive Sunday, were those of Gary Francis Rain, 24.
Rain was reported missing from the Stony Plain area March 12.
On Tuesday, an autopsy confirmed the identity of the deceased, officials said the family has been notified.
The cause of death is also under investigation, anyone with information that could help in the investigation is asked to call Spruce Grove/Stony Plain RCMP at 780-962-2222 or 780-968-7267.
