Part of Highway 881, in northern Alberta, had to be closed overnight after a crash that killed a man and critically injured two other people.
The two vehicle collision happened on Wednesday, just before 3:00pm, about 45 kilometres south of Conklin.
RCMP say the 54-year-old driver of one vehicle died at the scene, while the 39-year-old driver and 24-year-old passenger of the other vehicle were airlifted to Edmonton hospitals.
Highway 881 was reopened to traffic earlier this morning. Mounties say highways in the area are covered in snow and ice, and people are warned to drive with caution.
Later Thursday, RCMP identified the deceased man as Ronald Foster, of Gibbons.
