RCMP are investigating two fatal collisions on Alberta highways.

One of the collisions happened just after 6 p.m. Friday on Highway 2 near Legal.

Police said a northbound vehicle crossed the centre line and was hit by a southbound vehicle.

The male driver of the northbound vehicle was killed but his name is being withheld until the family is notified.

Peace River RCMP are investigating a second collision that happened on Highway 2A near Grimshaw just after 7 p.m. that same night.

The driver of a southbound vehicle was killed after the car entered a northbound lane and was struck.

The two occupants of the northbound vehicle were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers said they suspect speed was a factor.
