Five other incidents of thefts from vehicles, including fuel, were reported during the same timeframe, added RCMP.

To help reduce the likelihood of being a victim of crime, RCMP advise residents to:

  • keep your property well-lit and consider installing outdoor or motion sensor lights;
  • remove your garage door openers, house keys and any valuables from your vehicle when unoccupied
  • keep your vehicle parked in a locked garage if possible; or
  • ensure you park in a visible, well-lit location, and never leave your vehicle running with the keys in it; and
  • if you see suspicious activity in progress, call the police immediately.

Residents are also asked to check security cameras for any suspicious activity.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Fort Saskatchewan RCMP at 780-997-7900 or Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-8477 or online.
