Officers with the RCMP Major Crimes Unit in Edmonton are investigating after a man was found dead earlier in the week.
RCMP said on Monday, March 24, at about 10 a.m., officers at the Smoky Lake RCMP detachment were called on reports of human remains found in a rural area within the County of Smoky Lake.
An autopsy has not yet been scheduled, the identity of the deceased was being withheld until next of kin could be notified.
