RCMP are investigating, after a single-vehicle collision on the north-west edge of St. Albert left a 30-year-old man dead.

On Sunday, just before 6 a.m., St. Albert RCMP were called to a crash in the area of Range Road 255 and Highway 633.

RCMP from Morinville and St. Albert, and emergency crews from St. Albert arrived on the scene a short time later – and found the lone occupant of the pickup truck was deceased.

Investigators said the pickup truck was travelling south on Range Road 255, which is a gravel road – police said tire tracks showed the truck left the road, briefly entered the ditch, before returning to the road and rolling onto its roof.

Police have identified the driver as Brent Ferguson, 30, of St. Albert.

Road and weather conditions are not believed to be a factor in the crash, and RCMP said the driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time.

RCMP are still investigating.
