Leduc RCMP are investigating, after a van and an SUV collided on the highway west of Leduc Monday afternoon.

RCMP said the collision happened at 1:30 p.m. Monday on Highway 39 at 74 Street, involving a van and an SUV – witnesses reported the SUV was headed westbound when it as struck by an eastbound van.

Two people inside the van suffered non-life threatening injuries, while RCMP said two of the three people in the SUV suffered serious injuries and were airlifted by STARS Air Ambulance, the third taken to hospital by ground ambulance.

The condition of the third person in the SUV was unknown.

The highway was closed for about an hour as RCMP investigated.
