Spruce Grove RCMP are investigating, after two restored antique cars stored on a farm were nearly destroyed by vandals over the weekend.

Police said at some point between April 14 and 15, the suspects allegedly broke into a locked barn on a farm located just south of Spruce Grove.

Four antique cars had been stored in the barn, including a 1925 Ford Model T and a 1956 Studebaker.

The suspects appear to have managed to get the Studebaker running, before it got stuck in the mud – the suspects then lit the car on fire.

The Model T was also pushed outside, where the windows were smashed; the suspects also inflicted extensive body damage, and burn marks to the vehicle.

RCMP said the owner of the vehicles had carefully restored both of them, and they were considered priceless.

The owner has offered a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible – anyone with information is asked to contact Spruce Grove RCMP at 780-962-2222 or Stony Plain RCMP at 780-968-7267, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
