Years after 36-year-old Jolene Cote was found dead in her Spruce Grove home, RCMP were back near the scene of the unsolved 2011 murder, trying to find more evidence.

RCMP detectives, and a dive team, were at Walker Lake just outside of Spruce Grove Monday, they spent the day searching the water.

“We want the public to know the investigation is moving forward and we are here continuing the investigation,” Sgt. Jack Poitras said.

The RCMP dive team, from B.C. was wading into water behind the acreage home Cote shared with her husband and two children Monday.

It’s the second time investigators have combed the lake – the first time was after she was found dead, back in October, 2011.

RCMP haven’t revealed how Cote died, but have said her murder wasn’t random, and whoever attacked her intended to seriously harm or kill her.

RCMP have not identified any suspects in this case.

“Hopefully we get some new information, and maybe it can be the key piece that we’re looking for that needs to break the case,” Poitras said.

Investigators are also hoping to remind the public about Cote’s vehicle, a 2002 silver Jeep Liberty she was driving on the night of October 12, 2011. She had been at a soccer game, before making a stop at a store – the last place she was seen alive.
