RCMP east of Edmonton are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who was supposed to show up for work Monday, and hasn’t been seen since.

Vermilion RCMP said Imants Zarins, 35, was supposed to be at work Monday, but never showed up – police said Zarins is a foreign worker from Latvia, who is employed a t a business in Innisfree.

Zarins is described as:

  • Slender
  • About 193 cm (6’4”) tall
  • 79 kg (175 lbs)
  • Clean shaven
  • Short blond hair

Zarins reportedly drives a white 1997 Pontiac Grand Am, with the Alberta license plate ‘BKG 1632’ – and his vehicle is also missing.

RCMP said Zarins speaks Latvian and Russian fluently, and can read and speak English well.

It’s believed he had been in the Edmonton area in recent weeks, but those friends have not been identified.

Foul play is not suspected, and anyone with information on Zarins’ whereabouts is asked to call Vermilion RCMP at 780-853-4441 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
