Registry services across the province have been temporarily disrupted.

Individuals looking to renew their driver's licence will have to wait another day.

"You're looking at things like driver's licence renewal, land title searches, vital statistics information such as birth certificates those type of things have been affected by it," said Sharon Lopatka with Service Alberta.

Roger and Eilene Guterez just moved to Edmonton and need Alberta identification. But they were turned away Friday.

"We don't have anything because we just got here from the Philippines," said Roger.

Registry manager Steve Cutting has turned away half his customers because of the problem.

"For this type of outage in my mind it's unprecedented," said Steve Cutting.

Service Alberta is working to restore the system.

"We're not exactly sure what the problem is we just know we're having a problem accessing the data," said Lopatka.

The province is apologizing for the inconvenience and doesn't know when it will be fixed.
