One person was taken to hospital after a vehicle rollover at Callingwood Road and 189 Street early Saturday morning.

Police have been investigating the collision, which occurred just before 1 a.m. Saturday.

The SUV was travelling northbound when it hit a parked car and rolled over a tree and rolling onto a front lawn.

Neighbours said the impact may have saved the driver’s live.

“The kid is lucky to be alive,” Oliver Roloff told CTV Edmonton.

“He actually pulled the tree out roots and all.

“He was pretty twisted up by the looks of it.”

The driver was reported to be in stable but critical condition at an Edmonton hospital.

Neighbours said they were considering petitioning the city for lower speed limits in the area.

“Once people turn this corner or that corner it is just amazing the speeds they take,” Roloff said.

“The speeds that people take down this road are phenomenal.”

“We’ve got kids in the neighbourhood riding their bikes and walking around.”
