EDMONTON -- A small plane made a belly landing at the airport in High Level on Wednesday night.

The medevac flight carrying two pilots and two paramedics reported an issue with its landing gear just after 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Town officials said Thursday that the issue couldn't be resolved and flight crew performed a belly landing with the Canwest Air Beechcraft B200 plane with emergency crews waiting.

“It was probably the best outcome possible for this kind of event,” he added. “Nobody was hurt, no fuel was spilled, and no fire occurred,” airport manager Luke Colatorti said in a written release.

The Transportation Safety Board is working with the airport manager, the aircraft operator and the RCMP but will not be on site.
