Police have now charged a second individual in connection with a three-vehicle crash that left a 16-year-old male dead last April.

On April 23, 2010, a 2007 Lexus IS250 and a 2005 Mercedes Benz were northbound on 66 Street approaching 31st Avenue when a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero travelling south, crossed the path of the Lexus and made a left hand turn onto 31st Avenue.

The driver of the Lexus swerved, but still hit the vehicle. Seconds later, the Mercedes also collided with the Oldsmobile.

The 16-year-old driver of the Oldsmobile, Jeremie LeBlanc, was taken to hospital with critical injuries, where he died a short time later.

This week, 31-year-old Edmonton resident Rena Noi Onevathana, was charged with fail to remain at the scene of an accident causing death, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle by street racing causing death.

Last week, police laid charges against 31-year-old Jayant Soni of Edmonton.

Soni has been charged with one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle by street racing causing death and one count of refusal to provide a breath sample causing death.
