RCMP in the Lloydminster area have closed a section of Highway 17, after a fatal traffic collision took place Thursday morning.
Maidstone RCMP said a northbound pickup truck and a semi-truck heading south collided head-on just after 9 a.m. on a section of highway located just north of Lloydminster.
Police said the 53-year-old male driver of the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene – the two people who were in the semi suffered minor injuries.
The highway is expected to remain closed for several hours while police investigate.
