Two separate shootings, late Monday night, have sent two men to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officers were dispatched to a weapons complaint at a residence, in the area of 113 A Street and 136 Avenue, shortly after 10:00 p.m.
They found a 44-year-old woman suffering from minor injuries and a 48-year-old man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
“What had happened, we believe is that a couple of people entered the back door, and there was a gunshot at the back door with the victim,” Insp. Eddie McIsaac said.
Police say, while they were investigating the scene, an SUV arrived in front of the home and requested emergency assistance for an injured passenger. A 22-year-old man from the vehicle was treated for a gunshot wound by EMS and transported to hospital in critical condition.
Later Tuesday morning, police said the 48-year-old man was in stable condition, and remained in hospital, and the 22-year-old man remained in critical condition in hospital.
Additional evidence was found on the roadway near 94 Street and 132 Avenue, leading police to believe that the SUV traveled along 132 Avenue from 82 Street to 113 A Street.
Police say they have no suspects and nobody has been arrested. They add that, so far, the two incidents do not appear connected and do not appear to be random.
The EPS Homicide Section has been called in to help with the investigation.
Later Tuesday, police said no arrests or charges had been laid in connection to the shootings.
