A Sherwood Park woman has been found guilty of impaired driving in a fatal crash that killed two men in September of 2009.

Stephanie Williams was found guilty of impaired driving causing death, impaired driving causing bodily harm and refusing to provide a blood sample in connection to the 2009 crash. A judge handed down the verdict in a St. Albert courtroom Monday morning.

The family of one of the two men who died in the crash say they were relieved to hear the guilty verdict, but say they know nothing will bring back Dustin Desjarlais.

"But justice is not really done because I am not going to get my boy back," said Dustin's mother, Betty Desjarlais.

Dustin was a passenger in a car driven by Williams. The pair was going home after a baseball tournament in Morinville on September 27, 2009.

During the trial, a witness testified Williams had been drinking heavily prior to getting behind the wheel. A motorist saw her southbound car cross the centre line on Highway 28, and collide with an oncoming vehicle. Dustin died along with a man in a minivan.

Dustin's brother, Quentin Desjarlais says Williams showed a lack of remorse in the courtroom.

"She didn't even look at us, she didn't apologize to any of us," he said.

Dustin's daughter was just a toddler when he died. The man's daughter will turn four on April 11th, the same day Williams will be sentenced.

"The message is get the drunks off the road and make the criminal system strict, so they know not to do this to anybody else," said Betty.

The other man killed in the crash was identified as Joneson Chiang. His family was not in court.
