Peace Regional RCMP said six people had been charged following a coordinated effort with the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT), Peace Regional General Investigation Section and McLennan RCMP.

According to authorities, investigators seized quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl.

“Those that traffic in illicit drugs destroy lives, homes and communities,” Peace Regional RCMP Detachment Commander Brent Meyer said in a statement.

Local officials reinforced their commitment to build safe communities and enforce laws to their fullest extent.

Liza Lorraine Roberts, 42, and Jake Patrick Bouchard, 20, both of Falher, as well as Denton Brodeur, 26, of Grimshaw, Michael Peter John Nadeau, 20, of Peace River, and a youth from Nampa were arrested and charged with a variety of drug trafficking offences.

Oakley James Pellan, 21, of Grimshaw is charged with trafficking fentanyl, three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Peace River is located about 200 kilometers northeast of Grande Prairie.
