Rain began falling in the Edmonton area overnight/early this morning.

The showers (heavier in pockets) will continue through this morning and into the early afternoon.

It looks like most of the steadier/heavier will be over southern parts of the Capital Region and south of the city.

By this afternoon, most of the rain will likely shift further south and may move out of the Edmonton area altogether.

Elsewhere - a bit of wet snow will fall in the mountains with a rain/snow mix possible in parts of the foothills.

Much-needed rain is coming to SW Alberta.  They haven't had much precipitation yet this morning. But, it's coming later today.

The Red Deer region had some steady showers Tuesday and will get a repeat performance today.
