A gas station near the hamlet of Bellis, Alberta suffered significant damage after thieves drove a stolen vehicle into the store and removed an ATM machine.

According to Smoky Lake RCMP, at about 3 a.m. Sunday morning officers responded to the scene at the Crossroads Pit Stop gas station located along Highway 857.

Police said the building suffered extensive damage and a “large amount of money” was lost.

No injuries were reported and no suspects have been arrested.

The investigation continues.

Bellis is located in Smoky Lake County about 140 kilometres northeast of Edmonton.
