EDMONTON -- Don’t feel like cooking and want to support local businesses this holiday season?
A number of Edmonton restaurants are still taking orders to make your Christmas Eve dinner for takeout.
"We put together a very simple three-course dinner that has beef wellington, salmon en croute, a little gravlax with crepe, pate creme or chocolate for dinner," co-owner Patrick Saurette told CTV News.
The meal costs $65 per person and comes with instructions for the final touches.
"After the 2 p.m. pickup, we'll do a quick little Zoom call, we'll have that on the instruction sheet and people can, you know, put a little bit of egg nog in their hand and join us for some instructions," Saurette said.
"Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, carrots, brussels sprouts, cranberry, gravy, like the whole nine," said Nate Box with District Cafe.
The dinner idea was so popular, it's been sold out since Wednesday.
"We'd been talking about this for a couple, few weeks, and then we saw like other places, other businesses like big and small started launching their own turkey dinners, almost identical to ours, and so we launched a holiday dinner."
