Edmonton Police have charged a total of three people for their alleged roles in a crime spree that left a man suffering from serious injuries.

On Monday morning, police said Jesse Bergey, 21, had been charged with attempted murder – he joined two other suspects, Tyrone Isadore, 27, and Brian Bergey, 26.

Isadore and Bergey were each charged Sunday with attempted murder, in addition, Isadore is facing two break and enter-related charges, and Bergey has been charged with two counts of breach of recognizance.

The charges stem from an incident Saturday, at about 2:45 a.m., police were called to the area of 95 Street and 110 Avenue, on reports of an assault.

Police found a man had confronted two suspects in the back alley close to his home, where he was allegedly beaten.

A 46-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries in the incident; he was treated on the scene by paramedics and then rushed to hospital.

It was also reported the same two suspects had broken into a home in the same area.

As the suspects fled, the Canine Unit was able to catch up with one of the men, who was engaged by the dog, when the suspect threatened an officer.

The second suspect allegedly continued on the crime spree, breaking into a home in the area of 110A Avenue and 92 Street – a resident woke up to the break in, and confronted the suspect, reportedly attacking him with a machete.

Police were able to track down and arrest the suspect after he fled that home.
